Events for Staff

Careers@Curtin works together with Curtin staff, employers and industry groups and representatives to share information that will benefit Curtin, the organisations concerned and advance the careers of Curtin students.

In providing events for employers, industry representatives and Curtin staff, Careers@Curtin aims to;
  • Collaborate with faculties and employers to inform best practice for the career development of higher education students;

  • Facilitate industry partners and academic staff networking with each other;

  • Create an awareness of the services that Careers@Curtin offers;

  • Gather feedback regarding the existing and prospective Careers@Curtin services.

Employment Opportunties for International Students looking to work in Australia after graduation

Recent changes to the 485 (Graduate Visa) means that it is now much easier for employers to recruit international graduates.

How does this affect Curtin staff?

Come along to a one hour interactive presentation with employers, representatives from industry and the Department of Immigration and Citizenship to:
  • discuss what this means for our graduates;

  • explore how Curtin can better prepare and position our International Students to be employed under this visa

  • gain a better understanding of the visa process, and

  • to work with employers to extend this increased recruitment of our international students to incorporate work integrated learning and vacation employment.

Experience Works is a programme that assists student gain work experience (not for course credit)and apply for vacation employment. Insurance cover is included in the service provided to students.

An information session will be held on:
